Last weekend Jennifer was in town with her baby girl Hannah, and we were able to meet up at the Galleria for some shopping. I only get to see Jen a couple of times a year so this was a treat! Jen and I are two peas in a pod, and I love that we can pick back up right where we left off when we saw each other last. At one point during our visit, Jen told me that she thinks Hannah dislikes blonde haired people. Fortunately, she only got upset once or twice when Jen went into the dresssing room and she was stuck with me. Check out how cute Hannah is.
2) Vegetable RiceI get really excited about food. I love to cook, and who doesn't love to eat? This is one of my additions to the weekly menu that can be made with about 5 minutes of prep time. It is as simple as a box of Near East rice (try the whole grain blends) and the addition of your favorite veggies during the last few minutes of cooking. I like to use zuchinni, yellow squash, broccoli and bell pepper. If you need some protein, brown a chicken breast or two on each side, and then add the rice mix and continue cooking. Excluding the high sodium content, it is a pretty healthy and easy meal.
3) Dogsitting BoomerangBoomerang is our friends' Schnauzer. He is not quite a year old, and therefore has lots of energy. He is fairly well behaved, and he has decided that Dodger is his new bff. He follows him around everywhere and jumps up and tries to hold Dodger's face in his paws. Poor Boomerang has a coat of dried dog slime on him from their daily play sessions. He is still a little afraid of Patton, but they seem to be making better friends as the week progresses. I wonder if Ethan & Jennifer will notice if we return Patton to them instead?
4) Rollerskating with Care Group
The kids at the roller rink were probably wondering why the "old people" were invading their Friday night hang out. Let's just say that it isn't as easy as you remember it being, especially with 4 feet tall kids cutting you off at every turn.

Cute baby, fun dogs, friends who will rollerskate with you, and the rice dish -- a good week! My weekly newsletter the parents is called "A Peek at the Week" :)
That's awesome! ;) I think I said "highlights of the week"..not exactly the same, but still.
New zebra print AND roller skating among middle schoolers. I wanted to start humming Born to be Wild while reading your posts.
