So back to the Ironman. Well it was Lily's first plane ride and she was a pretty good traveling companion. Phil managed to pack everything that he needed including his bike and make it to Florida in one piece with his parents, and they picked L and I up from the airport. Even sweet Dodge boy came. There were several meetings and bike check ins and the like prior to the actual event, and lots of catering to little Phil. The day of the race we went out to the start and watched the swim and the start of the bike, then came back that night to watch the finish. Phil had a really good time and was very happy with his performance and I am happy for him and also very glad that the Ironman is over and that he has more time to spend with his family and new baby. They were pretty lucky that the Ironman wasn't a day later because a tropical storm stirred up the water and brought in rain the following days and the red flags that signaled no swimming were flying high. Phil had a few small nagging injuries that kept flaring up the weeks and months prior to the race and he was a bit worried about them causing problems during the race, but luckily he felt wonderful all day, and the worst thing that happened was a giant blister on the bottom of his foot.
I don't really know what more to say because it was Phil's race, not mine, but I do have pictures!

Oh. My. Gosh. This is hilarious!!! I SO have the same issues with the way Zach chews!!!!! There is a How I Met Your Mother Episode called "Spoiler Alert" which is so funny because one of the characters has the same problem!! Too funny! I cracked up when I read this! Glad to share it with someone else! :)
OH WOW! Ok, first of all- the chewing thing- I'm TOTALLY with you on that one! It's so funny that you mention the cereal thing because my sister sitting next to me each morning munching and slurping just about did me in every day. And now I have to deal with Josh who is the loudest eater ever. I say we put him and Phil next to each other for a Noise-Off. My hubby will win that one, hands down.
Ok, now that Iron Man! Oh my word, that is amazing!!!! Seriously, GO PHIL!!!
Haha girls! I'm glad someone is on my side here. Phil said that "he hates this post" and that I should take it down. ;)
Love, love, love your commentary, especially the first part!! Glad he did so well, but glad y'all are home and having more family time!
I'm on Phil's side with this one. Do you have any idea how obnoxious it is to have to eat apples, peanuts, or cereal alone in the kitchen even though I chew with my mouth closed for fear of accidentally setting Ben off while he parks it on the couch happily munching chips with his mouth wide open and cheeto residue all over his face and hands? I am not a fan of this Morton gene.
