If Dodger & Patton had a baby

Everyone has seen the celebrity love child crosses on Conan or Leno. They are always a little on the frightening side and don't do either of the celebs justice. Take this one for example, the love child of Rihanna and Shia LeBeouf.Scary right? Well, this weekend Chelley sent me a picture of the love puppy of Patton and Dodger. And he is not scary at all, he is adorable! And his name is Mr. Bojangles. How cute is that? If you want to adopt him, check out the ridgebackrescue.com site.

Dear Girl at Target...

I was definitely in front of you in line today. My husband may have been behind you with the cart, but I was there before you. But no, you wouldn't let him by. So I graciously allowed you to go in front of me without a word. Don't think I didn't notice the giant thing of monistat in your cart though. Karma maybe?

I've been tagged

According to Emily, I've been tagged and have to post six of my quirks. I am going to cheat and use some of Phil's too.

1) I pour milk in my cereal bowl first, then add a small layer of cereal and eat it, add another layer, eat it, and on and on, thus avoiding soggy cereal, which is disgusting to me.

2) When I make hamburgers or handle raw chicken, I wash my hands a zillion times during the process. I am paranoid about getting germs on my seasoning bottles or on my dishtowels.

3) When I do laundry on the weekend, I always leave the last load in the dryer. We then pull out what we need during the week, and I will finally get around to folding it when the next load needs the dryer.

4) I will probably get in trouble for this one, but Phil's most recently discovered quirk is night terrors. I woke up a couple of nights ago to Phil screaming his head off. I grabbed his arm to wake him up and yet he still screamed. Then, he jumped OVER me and onto the floor next to the bed. Apparently in his mind, he was sliding down a hill towards a giant snake, and then the snake "grabbed" him and he had to jump over the snake. It was quite the frightening experience for me!

5) I am paranoid. When I'm walking out of work or leaving the dart station I am constantly checking to see who is around me and creating escape plans in my head for what I will do if they "attack" me. When I fly I check out the other passengers for anyone who looks nervous or like they might want to blow up our plane.

6) It seems that Phil's quirks that come to the top of my head are all sleep related. If Phil falls asleep before me, then woe is me. His whole body will involuntarily jerk or spasm every 30 seconds or so at the beginning of his sleep cycle. It makes falling asleep next to him very difficult some nights!

So much to post about!

1) Hanging out with Jennifer & Hannah
Last weekend Jennifer was in town with her baby girl Hannah, and we were able to meet up at the Galleria for some shopping. I only get to see Jen a couple of times a year so this was a treat! Jen and I are two peas in a pod, and I love that we can pick back up right where we left off when we saw each other last. At one point during our visit, Jen told me that she thinks Hannah dislikes blonde haired people. Fortunately, she only got upset once or twice when Jen went into the dresssing room and she was stuck with me. Check out how cute Hannah is.
2) Vegetable Rice
I get really excited about food. I love to cook, and who doesn't love to eat? This is one of my additions to the weekly menu that can be made with about 5 minutes of prep time. It is as simple as a box of Near East rice (try the whole grain blends) and the addition of your favorite veggies during the last few minutes of cooking. I like to use zuchinni, yellow squash, broccoli and bell pepper. If you need some protein, brown a chicken breast or two on each side, and then add the rice mix and continue cooking. Excluding the high sodium content, it is a pretty healthy and easy meal.
3) Dogsitting Boomerang
Boomerang is our friends' Schnauzer. He is not quite a year old, and therefore has lots of energy. He is fairly well behaved, and he has decided that Dodger is his new bff. He follows him around everywhere and jumps up and tries to hold Dodger's face in his paws. Poor Boomerang has a coat of dried dog slime on him from their daily play sessions. He is still a little afraid of Patton, but they seem to be making better friends as the week progresses. I wonder if Ethan & Jennifer will notice if we return Patton to them instead?

4) Rollerskating with Care Group
The kids at the roller rink were probably wondering why the "old people" were invading their Friday night hang out. Let's just say that it isn't as easy as you remember it being, especially with 4 feet tall kids cutting you off at every turn.

Dodger vs. Helicopter

My brother thought it would be funny to tie a piece of cheese on a string to his toy helicopter and have Dodger chase it. Poor Dodger will do anything for food.

Love this cow art!

They are adorable. I love their expressions. And a great price for unique, original paintings. I found them while cruising around Etsy. The artist's website is drunkencows.com
